Spirit House Ministries Inc. was born out of a desire to change lives and share in the life giving relationship with Jesus Christ one inmate experienced while incarcerated in the Williamson County Jail in 2007.
Today Spirit House Ministries focuses on demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ through discipleship, visits, and correspondence. Discipleship is fostered in personal relationship building with each woman seeking to learn and grow in a love inspired walk. Visits include personal, one on one visits with women in County and State Correctional Facilities. Correspondence includes spiritual mentoring and pen pal connections with a Christian sister on the outside and a growing in Christ sister on the inside.
We have recently established a free standing and self supporting housing program that will allow transitional time during which a woman can become grounded in faith and love before she walks out on her own.
Honoring the creative call on all our lives, Spirit House Ministries will also work to provide an avenue for the publication of women's artwork, testimonies and creative expressions as a means of healing and fulfillment.
Currently we disciple women through cards, letters and visits; sharing resources and bible studies. Our volunteer staff of two write to an average of 50 women a month, with personal letters sharing the hope and love of Jesus Christ. And the needs and referrals continue to grow.
Knowing that we have been called so service by Jesus himself, Spirit House Ministries Inc. follows the heart of Matthew 25:40 - “The King will reply, 'I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these followers of mine, you did it for me!'” to house, clothe, feed and minister to the unique needs of new or renewed Christian women.
We hope you will be inspired to write or call us today to find out more about what God is doing in our lives and in the lives of the women we serve.
